Frequently Asked Questions
How do I secure a Circularity Custom Order?
At the start of every month, we release five slots for a Circularity Custom order. To secure a slot, place a Circularity order free of charge through our online store. Once we confirm your order, you will receive a link to schedule your initial consultation.
How does the appraisal process work?
After your consultation, ship your existing piece to our office (we will provide a prepaid label) and we will appraise its materials. At the atelier, we will identify, measure, and weigh each metal and stone and and share a report of the materials received and what can be upcycled to create something new.
What if the package containing my existing piece gets lost or stolen?
In the unfortunate event that your package is lost or stolen, please contact our customer service. Remember, the prepaid label includes insurance up to $500.
What kind of jewelry or materials are eligible to be upcycled?
Any jewel or heirloom made of 14K gold and up, natural diamonds, or any precious gemstones can be upcycled.
What design options do I have for my new piece?
During your initial consultation, we will discuss your vision for your new piece. If you’d like something entirely bespoke, we will present to you 3 custom-made design proposals after the Material Appraisal stage. Or you can choose a MARAI original design.
What if my new piece does not require all of the materials from my existing piece?
We will confirm this in the Design Proposal stage and ship any unused materials back to you with your final piece.
How much does a Circularity Custom Order cost?
Through Circularity, you will not only benefit from the sustainability of the process, but you will also profit from the value of your existing piece and its materials. As a result, we will charge only a crafting and redesign fee, which will be presented to you during the design proposal stage. If the design you choose requires additional materials beyond what your existing piece offers, only then will you incur a materials charge.
When will I be charged for the cost of my Circularity Custom Order?
After the Design Approval stage is complete, we will charge you the total cost of your Circularity order.
What if I decide not to proceed with the process?
It is OK to change your mind, if you have already shipped your piece to us and you decide not to proceed with the Design Approval stage, we will ship your existing piece back to you free of charge.
How long does one Circularity Custom Order take?
One Circularity order takes 7-10 weeks from consultation to final delivery.
Will my new piece come with a MARAI Authenticity Passport?
